Breast Cancer Now are the UK’s leading breast cancer charity. And they’re combining the power of science and support to change breast cancer. They have a bold vision – that by 2050, everyone with breast cancer will live and live well.

It’s a vision we share here at Pentel, and one we’ve been helping to make a reality since partnering together back in 2006. It began with a humble goal to raise £25,000 in the first year. 20 years later, and we’ve sold over 7.7 million special edition pens, raising more than £1.73 million for Breast Cancer Now’s life-saving science and life-changing support.

That amount could fund a research team at the Breast Cancer Now’s Toby Robins Research Centre for over 3 years. That’s salaries, equipment, large scale data analysis and everything else needed for their world-class scientists to tackle some of the biggest challenges in breast cancer.

And we’re not stopping now.

For each EnerGel pink-barrelled pen sold, 25p goes towards Breast Cancer Now. So every pen purchased is a donation to their cause. The money is helping to fund their researchers to look for new and better treatments. It’s helping to make sure their expert nurses can be here with answers and a listening ear on the Breast Cancer Now helpline. And it’s supporting them to run change-making campaigns for better access to treatments and quicker, earlier diagnosis.

But breast cancer is far from a done deal. 1 in 7 women in the UK will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime. And the disease still takes the lives of around 11,500 women and 90 men every single year. That’s one person every 45 minutes.

Breast Cancer Now are working tirelessly to make change happen. But they rely on donations and fundraising to keep going. And that’s why our partnership is so important.
